Amman, May 7 (Petra) – The 2026 Bylaw for Preparation and Aftercare of Shelter Residents and Care Leavers was published in the latest release of the Official Gazette on Wednesday.

This regulation, issued pursuant to Articles 10 and 26 of the Social Development Law No. 4 of 2024, aims to organize aftercare procedures for shelters' beneficiaries.

This process will contribute to the target groups' psychological and social rehabilitation to become self-reliant and facilitate their reintegration into society after leaving the shelters.

According to the system, beneficiaries are defined as individuals aged 16-18 residing in shelters, including orphans, people without family support, and others from broken homes.

Meanwhile, a care leaver is defined as any person who has reached the age of 18 and was a beneficiary of a shelter.

The system also defines rehabilitation as a comprehensive set of organized and ongoing measures provided to the beneficiary, aimed to rehabilitate target groups psychologically and socially to become self-reliant and reintegrate into society.

Under its new version, the system's provisions shall come into effect from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
